Services

KYC & due diligence

Independent checks on counterparties, documents, products and vessels before you commit.

What we check

Verification at every stage of a deal

Most losses in commodity trading start with an unverified counterparty or an unverified document. Our services are built to catch both early.

Counterparty KYC & due diligence

Know exactly who you are contracting with.

  • Verification of company registration and good standing
  • Identification of directors and ultimate beneficial owners
  • Sanctions, politically-exposed-person and adverse-media screening
  • Bank and trade reference checks

Producer, terminal & document verification

Confirm that the product and its paperwork are real.

  • Confirmation of documents directly with the issuing producer, refinery or storage terminal
  • Review of offer documents and draft contracts for inconsistencies
  • Confirmation of storage and product availability
  • Vessel checks: IMO number, ownership, flag and recent voyage history

Red flags

Warning signs we look for

These patterns appear again and again in fraudulent energy offers.

  • Requests for upfront fees for “allocation”, “storage” or “registration”
  • Procedures that require the buyer to pay for documents or tests before a contract is signed
  • Storage or tank receipts that the named terminal cannot confirm
  • Vessel details that do not match the IMO number, name or ownership on record
  • Messages from free email services or look-alike company domains
  • Bank letters that the named bank does not confirm through bank-to-bank channels
  • Offers priced far below the prevailing benchmark

Engagements

How an engagement works

  1. Initial call

We discuss your requirement and the parties involved.

  2. Written proposal

Scope, deliverables, fee and timeline are agreed in writing before work begins.

  3. Report

You receive a written report with our findings, sources and any red flags.

  4. Follow-through

If you proceed, we can support you through the transaction.

Our reports set out factual due-diligence findings. They are not legal, tax or investment advice.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does a KYC review take?

It depends on the number of parties involved and how quickly documents are provided. We agree a timeline in the written proposal.

Can you verify a document someone has sent us?

Yes. We confirm documents directly with the issuing producer, refinery, terminal, bank or inspection company — not with the party that sent them.

Is your report legal advice?

No. Our reports set out factual due-diligence findings. They are not legal, tax or investment advice, and we work alongside your legal counsel where needed.
