Alupetra Research

How we research, verify and publish

The standards behind every daily brief, analysis, weekly outlook and price page on this website.

Last updated: 27 October 2026

Who writes our research

Our research is published under the name Alupetra Research, the market research function of Alupetra, an energy trading and advisory company with offices in Istanbul, London and Dubai and 79 registered clients in 8 markets.

We write as a physical trader: what moves cargoes, contracts, freight, credit and counterparty risk. Articles are researched and drafted with the help of automated tools, and nothing is published until it has passed the checks described on this page.

Sources

We rely on primary sources wherever possible: official statistics such as those of the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the IEA and OPEC, government and customs data, company and exchange statements, and established news agencies and trade publications.

Every brief and article names and links its sources. Third-party reporting is summarised in our own words; we do not reproduce articles or images from other publishers.

Verification before publication

Every figure in a brief or an article must appear in one of its cited sources. An automated check compares numbers, dates and benchmark names with the sources and blocks publication if it cannot match them. Sources must be reachable when the piece is published.

Prices

Live prices are streamed from TradingView’s licensed market data during market hours. They are futures- or CFD-based indications and can differ from physical spot prices.

The official daily spot history comes from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). It is downloaded every morning and checked for implausible moves before it is published. Each price page states which figure is live and which is the official daily assessment.

Outlooks and forecasts

Our weekly outlook describes scenarios, not certainties. Price ranges are derived from recent realised volatility and from the drivers we can document. They are not investment advice and not an offer to buy or sell.

Neutrality

We cover politics, conflict and sanctions only as they affect energy markets. We attribute claims to their sources and do not take political sides. Alupetra does not deal with sanctioned parties, and nothing on this website is guidance on avoiding sanctions.

Independence

Alupetra trades the products it writes about. Our research does not recommend trades, and our content is not sponsored. Market commentary is never an offer: offers are issued in writing only, after KYC is complete for both parties.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we correct it promptly. To report an error, write to cm@alupetra.com.
